Low Level Laser Therapy - a positive home solution for managing Fibromyalgia pain

Author: Pulse Laser Relief  Date Posted:25 March 2020

Fibromyalgia is the umbrella term given to a group of conditions that are most commonly recognised by generalised muscle pain and stiffness. Common symptoms of fibromyalgia include pain (usually aching or stiffness), extreme fatigue, inconsistent sleep, concentration and memory problems and irritable bowel.

The pain that Fibromyalgia patients experience is said to be “deep-burning” and “all-consuming” as it usually stems from deep in the muscle. Fibromyalgia pain is commonly experienced in areas of the body such as hips, shoulders, chest, neck, arms, upper and lower back and the buttocks making basic movements very unpleasant. Once diagnosed, many people are prescribed medication for relief and/or are told that incorporating basic daily exercise into their routine could help reduce their symptoms.

While there is no known cure for this condition, treatments such as photobiomodulation, also known as Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), have become a viable solution to help relieve pain, improve circulation and reduce inflammation.

Research has found that there can be a reduction of Fibromyalgia symptoms with regular treatments from a LLLT device - such as the Handy Pulse Laser. The Handy Pulse Laser delivers a similar treatment to those administered in this research by delivering a super pulsed beam to the source of pain, making it a valuable and effective device to manage symptoms at home.

Research Findings

A 2018 study by a team led by MM da Silva assessed 160 women who were diagnosed with fibromyalgia. Each participant was given photobiomodulation therapy to 11 different locations on their bodies, delivering several LEDs in a single super pulsed beam directly to each treatment point. The objective of this research was to measure whether ongoing therapy, coupled with exercise training, would relieve the pain that fibromyalgia patients experienced in those body parts.

After the 10-week trial period, researchers concluded that participants noticed significant improvements in the pain that they had previously experienced in the several points that received the treatment. After the treatment period participants reported that they experienced thorough pain relief and were able to live a better quality of life because of the reduced levels of pain that they were experiencing on a day-to-day basis.

Why use the Handy Pulse Laser device?

Pulse Laser Relief offers a similar device to the one used in the study mentioned above.

The Handy Pulse Laser offers a synergy of three light wavelengths (905nm, 875nm, 635nm), delivered simultaneously and targeted to the source of pain in a super-pulsed beam. The device is an easy-to-operate home laser that can assist an array of conditions depending on the area of the body that it is administered to. The Handy Pulse Laser does not produce any heat or pain during treatments, making it a great drug-free alternative to pain medications or invasive treatments.

The Handy Pulse Laser is a great asset for anyone suffering with Fibromyalgia to have in their home as treatments can be easily administered to an area of pain at the press of a button. LLLT devices use low-intensity lasers and light-emitting diodes (LEDs) to promote and accelerate the body’s natural healing mechanisms by stimulating the mitochondria directly. This process allows for damaged cells to absorb the energy emitted through the device and use it to regenerate and repair themselves. This process then results in the reduction of pain.
