Living Well With Pain - Chronic Pain Management Symposium

Painaustralia invites you to attend Living Well with Pain – a consumer symposium to be held at the National Convention Centre, Canberra on Sunday 17 March 2013.

Leading Australian and International experts on pain management will discuss new knowledge about pain, its links with depression and effective ways of communicating and managing pain with and without medication.

This will be of interest to all people living with pain, their families, carers and potentially many others, including policy makers, health care students and professionals.

Participants will be invited to contribute to a consumer forum, to discuss ideas for improving pain services, locally and potentially, Australia-wide.

The forum will be officially opened by Dr Peggy Brown, Director General ACT Government Health Directorate.

Prof Michael Nicholas Director of the ADAPT pain program at the Pain Management Research Centre, Royal North Shore Hospital and lead author of the book: Manage Your Pain.

Prof Lorimer Moseley Professor of Clinical Sciences and Chair of Physiotherapy, University South Australia, co-author of the book: Explain Pain.

Dr Stephanie Davies Head of Service, Pain Medicine Unit, Fremantle Hospital and Director of STEPS Pain Program.
